Working Things Out...

I apologize if anyone got swamped with MotC related posts (hopefully not, but I wasn't sure). I've had them locked while I tried to figure out how this whole "posting on LJ" thing worked, and just now thought I had ironed them out enough to actually try posting to some (one to start with - more this week if that one doesn't yell at me) comms. Now if I've done it right and understand how it is supposed to function, with everything unlocked I should be able to post into whatever communities I want without people who have me friended having to see it again... in theory...

Date: 2010-06-28 06:28 pm (UTC)Thanks! It posted to sn_cross about a month and a half ago, but I wanted a wider potential readership. Because, well -- it took a lot of time and effort and sn_cross is a pretty small comm *shrugs* It seems worthwhile because the biggest day for hits the first week it was up on the original posting was 58, I posted to wincest and SPN_crossovers shortly after midnight and I've had already had 51 today. Mind you this doesn't seem to actually be generating feedback *wryly* But I only had 8 comments for 632 hits sooooo... *shrugs* It's possible MotC just sucks, but I had quite a few people look it over and was completely open to criticism, and they all seemed to think it was reasonably meritorious.
I think a few of us need to form a mutual admiration society. Guaranteed substantial feedback -- good for the artistic soul, of whatever actual quality *grins*

Date: 2010-06-29 05:33 pm (UTC)I doubt MotC sucks; your writing and storytelling are both good. Crossovers are not my cup of tea, but even I am tempted to go take a look, just because I know I can trust your storytelling. It’s just that weird ‘silent majority’ phenomenon that so many fics experience from their audience.

Date: 2010-06-29 11:11 pm (UTC)I know, crossover just don't appeal to some. They don't usually interest me at all, so I tried to make sure that the Millennium aspect is pretty irrelevant unless you happen to be familiar with the show. It should just read like an SPN AU. If you do break down, let me know what you think *grins* But I completely understand.

Date: 2010-06-28 10:53 pm (UTC)Yeah, I just wasn't sure if when I unlocked them they would suddenly show up as current. I imagine they _did_ all show up, but it was weeks ago so no one actually had to look at them.

Date: 2010-06-28 11:02 pm (UTC)Writing? *groans* For which story? I was working on VampBB, but then I realized that plot worked better if I had werewolves that had to drink human blood to shapeshift... It's, um, better than it sounds, but the end result is I'm back to 0 on VampBB but I also signed up for WerewolfBB.
I've been flagging the stuff you've been posting to read! One of these days when I have more than five minutes online...
