Type: Slash, Het, Threesome, AU, hits counter Crossover

Characters/Pairings: Sam/Jess, Sam/Dean, Dean/Jess, Sam/Jess/Dean
Warnings: NC-17, some sex, some bad language

Summary: It has been two months since Sam and Jessica followed a vision and rescued Dean from certain death, and the physical wounds have mostly healed. But lingering questions still trouble the new relationship they have forged and two months is six weeks more of doing nothing than Dean can handle gracefully. What should be an easy recovery of stolen items in South Carolina looks to be the perfect opportunity to try their new dynamic in the field, but things that look easy are often deceptive. Between cursed jewelry, madness, and the involvement of a shadowy organization they have been warned repeatedly to avoid, the repercussions they face are like nothing they could have ever imagined. This story is a direct sequel to Midnight Of the Century

I've just spent the last day re-reading this wonderful story, both parts; (just glad jelly_man was at work!) It is truly wonderful, and I note 6 months has passed, only 6 to go, according to the comments I been reading. NO PRESSURE, but lots of love and encouragement :)))))

I will look into doing that... sometime. But if you are able to provide me with an email address I probably have a copy somewhere I can just send you directly.

For some strange reason, I saved both stories to my hard drive and never got around to reading them. I've just spent the last five hours devouring both stories and I had to tell you - WOW. I really loved both stories. I've never been much interested in Jess as a character - to me, she was a catalyst - her death was the reason why Sam returned to the Hunt. Here, you have made her a fully-realized character - one we only got the barest hint of in canon.

The circumstances you set up here: John and Dean's reasons for allowing the rift between them and Sam to continue, the relationship between Sam and Jess...it's your usual completely believable and thorough world-building that, in this case, is like a glimpse of a 'road not taken' in canon - but so much better.

BTW - that first together scene [trying to avoid spoilers] in the motel after Dean dealt with Jess's car? Beyond hot. Nuclear, in fact. Just sayin'. I might have needed a cold drink after reading that.

Lines like this? Dean had wondered for almost ten years what Sam’s skin would taste like The longing implied by such a deceptively simple phrase is intense - as always, your use of language and imagery is surpurb.

My only complaint? The third part that is totally implied by the ending of the second that isn't here. I don't know if you're considering making this a trilogy, but if so, please know you'll have a reader waiting enthusiastically for that story. There are a couple of very loose ends that need tying up, imho. Not that I'm trying to pressure you in any way. If your muse says two stories in this 'verse, so be it. But I can hope, can't I?

Thank you for a wonderful story. Now, I'm going to get about four hours' sleep before I have to get back up, but after a story this good, I don't mind the short night's sleep. ;D

random comment is random: angst-muffin?!! ROTFLMAO

I'm sleepy too, so forgive vague wanderings. Apparently humans need consistent sleep, who knew?

I think “angst-muffin” accurately decribes Sam for most of canon. Dean too *sunnily* I’m glad you got a chance to finally read the stories, and enjoyed them! I hope work isn’t too painful *winces* I agree with you about canon Jess, she’s completely unexplored in the show and really -- I never cared about the lack. She exists for exactly as your said. Honestly, she wasn’t really supposed to be in these fics either *wryly* but my roommate insisted I try it and it seemed to work out... certainly snarking with Jessica was probably more entertaining to read than a few dozen pages of Sam being tense and depressed by himself. And then the story pulled itself together and ...clicked.

I agree there is a third part implied. I seem to think in trilogies, it’s an illness *sighs* Given all the world and time... I can’t make any promises about finishing this story up in a more satisfactory manner (which I why I never post things that can’t stand alone if they have to). This story doesn’t get even a fraction of the attention that some of the other ones do, and all of them need third installments, so when I can kick the muse into cooperation long enough to make progress crossover verses don’t get much of my limited concentration (or you would have seen a certain Firefly/SPN fic ages ago *dryly*) I will try to see what can be done to tie things up better over the coming year, I’ve had to shuffle my timeline but maybe if I drag out the old sketch work for ‘Saturn, Dreaming Of Mercury’ it will kick start something, who knows? *grins*

I really enjoyed this series as well, I loved Millennium and it dovetails quite nicely with SPN in a lot of respects. I’m also inclined to write a third story because I don’t have to deal with demons. I hate writing anything to do with demons *dryly*
