Sam is smart. Now the demons think demon blood will hurt him. Unless Ruby knows what he was up too with the garlic. But if her end game is still with Lilith and Lucifer her plans should ally with Azazel's right now, so she shouldn't be helping Sam unless she's just trying to get on his good side.
