The monster was unique and interesting. The whole thing between Sam and Dean was quite hot, especially when they both finally lost control.
The resolution was handled well. It felt believable and was just a bit suspenseful while waiting to see if Dean would pull it off. He always comes though one way or another though, doesn't he?
I liked your Sam, too. His self-disgust and determination to end the creatures that ruined his life and killed Jess while trying not to turn were painted on expertly.
The final chat was enjoyable, too. Maybe they'll get over the whole brother eventually. *grin*
The only thing I am left wondering about is why Join gave Sammy up...did he ever even visit? And why did they find it necessary for Dean and Sam to never meet up as kids? It's just too sad, especially with Dean dmitting to himself that there had always been that unexplained emptiness in his heart. *sigh*
Anyway...this was awesome. I loved the plot and the way it unraveled. Thank you for writing it!
